Great Chinese food. Very friendly, reasonably priced, and fast. We always get the BBQ pork fried rice, sesame chicken and lo mein.

Fact: You don't go to most Chinese places for the atmosphere.
Fact: Great Chinese Food (American Chinese Food) typically comes from the "hole in the wall" places where all the Asians flock to.
My first experience with this restaurant was as a delivery. I loved the hot and sour soup which was balanced in sweetness, sourness and spiciness. I ordered the Hunan Chicken which was not offered on the menu but they adjusted. The Hunan Chicken was edible but lacked the flavor a true Hunan sauce has.
Note, this place is a Cantonese based style of Chinese so spicy and savory aren't their specialty.
I visited them at 11am (opening) for lunch. The door was still locked and the receptionist arrived at the same time. She knocked and the cook let us in.
I was not planning on the buffet but it appeared the kitchen staff were behind on the buffet so I didn't want to be a bother and accepted my fate. The buffet was partially completed in being stocked. The ingredients all appeared and tasted fresh in the majority of the dishes. I was not so happy about the egg rolls which smelled musty and not fresh. The dumplings had wonderful flavor even without the sauce which is a huge win in my book.
The sesame chicken, beef and broccoli and spicy chicken were good for Cantonese.
The hot tea was great. It had a hint of floral jasmine.
Service is lacking. The Chinese aren't known for their great service in most places. They are normally preoccupied.
My recommendation.... Order the dumplings to go... or order take out... expect everything but egg rolls to be fresh. Don't eat in. -

Everything was ok. Staff not overly helpful nor attentive. Being there wasn't anyone else there you'd think they'd be happy to help....:.
Food was ok, but nothing I'd drive back for -

I'll do 3 stars depending on what we are talking about. This place has thee world smallest buffet but they seem to get plenty of business. My coworkers love it with their bland tongues. I, myself, hate when they suggest we go there for lunch, "i'll pass". BUT there is a but, if we are ordering take out for delivery.. this is my go to chinese spot in Hopkins.
They are so very generous and kind. Very easy to understand (i can say that because i'm asian myself, know the struggle is real). They are very good to their customers and try to be quick. They remember their customers. Maybe this is why so many stay loyal. Sometimes the service is what attracts the people. For this place it's the take out and the service. -

Limited choices
Some items were very good
But otherwise meh
Compared to most Chinese buffets I go to, China Palace has a very small selection. One station with your basic Chinese buffet staples such as fried rice, lo mein, etc. and a smaller salad station. No dessert station. They charge $9.00 for the buffet. Not sure if drink is included in that price. I just had water. Pay as you leave. In an old strip mall that is off the beaten bath.
The standout items for me were the sesame chicken and pot stickers. The sesame chicken was very fresh and flavorful, and the pot stickers were much meatier than what I am accustomed to. The lo mein and fried rice were pretty basic. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here again, but certainly may if I am in the area.
